One of my favorite haircuts are creative short hairstyles. It’s a treat to have free range but also achieving the desired result! My suggestion to clients who wish to have a bob hair cut or a short cut in general is to research and gather inspiration photos. Pinterest is ideal for creating a mood bored to brainstorm your ideas! Most importantly, having a thorough consultation with your hairstylist. It’s my responsibility to educate my clients what is appropriate to maintain a hairstyle at home. My client was specific how she envisioned the cut and how important it is to maintain overtime. What inspired me to cut a suitable style for my client was her personality! She requested no too blunt and soft layers to brush over one side she favored. I was pleased with the overall look she expressed to me!
Once we established the cut I began the normal procedure for hair washing. Double cleanse and condition! After I’m finished cutting, I use 2 brushes to polish and smooth out the haircut. A denman brush and paddle brush are key to achieving a sheen style. Choosing the correct brushes along with appropriate blow dry method is key to achieving natural volume with a smooth finish! Flat wrapping method is the best approach to initially blow dry bob hair cuts to correctly refine the outline to the desired look. I’ve mentioned before how I enjoy dry cutting and cross check my work before ending my service with my clients. Adding either a pomade or dry texture spray creates a softer finish to help loosen up the haircut!
