Resolutions anyone? I have one — Focus more on hair because you care! Midwest in the winter is unpredictable to know how to dress or what to be prepared for. Especially when you have to dress accordingly for work, seeing your relatives or just being able to dress to impress! Hair styling in the winter can be challenging especially after you just styled your hair at home or after you left the salon. My solution is prepping my hair for the high winds and low temperatures for the season.
Food for thought: Being a “just in case” person has changed my daily routine when it come to beauty maintenance especially if your hair nerd like me!
The same advice I give myself is what I enjoy sharing to my clients! I love teaching everyone why it’s important to enjoy the pampering of styling your hair at home. Plus, It’s a new year to try something different so why not? My recommendations for products and tools are easy at home hair care routine!
Here are my go to products I like to have in my vanity to prep my hair for my day:
I’m not an impulse buyer, but if the product smells good I am a sap for fragrance! I can speak for other shoppers who enjoy browsing in salons or other retail stores to find the perfect brand of product that smells good and esthetically pleasing. That’s when I draw the line to committing to a product! Being committed to products also means to use generously and to know how the product works. Side note: Trending products are not always the most suitable products for your hair. Here are some helpful tips I like to teach my clients before impulse buying:
Overall my goal is to make sure my clients understand why they use the products they have at home vs products they use at home. In some cases clients want to indulge much information as possible to properly use take home products. My advice for first time buyers for hair products is to research, read reviews, and compare the alternatives. Next, travel size is optional and a plus! I love trying new products smaller rather than normal retail size. “Try before you buy” method works for me.
I recommend taking the product with you to know how convenient it is to travel around with a product in your bag or how well you enjoy using the product, maybe you like to use product often? In some cases product lines don’t always have travel size options but, I would ask your hairstylist to use products they would recommend for you to try in the salon.
The products in the picture are what I recommend to my clients in the salon. They’re minimal and easy to use for everyday day maintenance.
